Children at Emmanuel Kasheregyenyi Church of Uganda Parish in Ndorwa West County, Kabale district have used Children’s Day celebrated on every 28th of December to advocate for their rights.
While preaching yesterday, Joash Nimwesiga a son to Rev Oscar Mwesigwa the parish priest of Emmanuel Kasheregyenyi Church of Uganda expressed his concern over how Children have occasionally been tortured, harassed, abandoned and neglected, denied Education and taken for rituals by parents in search for Wealth.
Nimwesiga said that there is need for call to end of child torture,neglect and abandonment, let children have parental love and care, access to Education for children to be natured into good citizens for spiritual growth of church and government.
Nimwesiga also advised his fellow children to be obedient to God’s Commandments, respect their parents, always go to church and be faithful to God.
He also urged parents to raise their children by teaching them ethical values and Christians Virtues to protect them from earthly pleasures if they are to become responsible citizens.
“Parents nurture us, invest in us to get honor for the better transformation of our families, Church and the country at large” Nimwesiga Said.
Speaking in the same service, the parish priest of Emmanuel Kasheregyenyi Church of Uganda Parish Rev Oscar Mwesigwa said there is a need to invest in children led church services to change the lives of Children and promised to introduce more services for children not to always wait for 28th December.
