Police in Rukungiri is on hunting for a motorcyclist who knocked dead a 45 years old Scola a resident of Kashenyi cell Kabwooma parish Nyakagyeme sub county Rukungiri district.The nasty incident happened on the 13th September,2024 at around 6pm in Kagorogoro cell Nyakagyeme sub-county along Rukungiri Rwerere Kanungu road.
According to the Kigezi Region police spokesman ASP Eli Master,the motor cycle involved was a Bajaj boxer registration UGE 192Y red in colour but the rider has not been identified and still on run together with two passengers.
It is alleged that the rider was carrying two passengers coming from Kashenyi side heading to Rukungiri direction and he drifted from his side and knocked down the old lady who was heading in the opposite direction and died on the spot.
The police Rukungiri police was alerted, visited and documented the scene, who also took the motorcycle to Rukungiri CPS pending inspector of vehicles inspection and body taken to Rwakabengo Municipal mortuary for autopsy.
