Police in Rubanda is investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 23 year old Witness Ainembabazi a business woman. Ainembabazi is said to have been battered to death by her husband a one Marvelous Turyasingura both of Ntaraga cell Nyaruhanga parish Ikumba sub county Rubanda district.
It’s alleged that, on the 29th March,2023 at around 0645hrs, while Silver Tumukunde was passing by the home of Marvelous Turyasingura the suspect, heard an alarm in the house, he rushed, went and informed the immediate neighbour one Justine Twinobusingye who also rushed to the same home and found Ainembabazi witness in a comma.
She was rushed to kiizi health centre where she was later pronounced dead.
Police was informed by the area chairperson one Naris Ahimbisibwe, visited the scene, and body was taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem and the suspect was accordingly arrested.
ASP Elly Maate the PRO for Kigezi regional police has confirmed this tragic news and condemns such acts. He said in such instances, the grieved should report to police instead of acting ignorantly and finish someone’s life unexpectedly.
Maate noted that the case was recorded as CRB: 118/2023 and inquiries are still going and the suspect will be aligned to court once in investigations are complete.
