Erias Lukwago, Kampala Lord Mayor has reappointed Doreen Nyanjura, Makerere University Woman Councillor as his second in command in the new term of office.
Lukwago through powers vested in the office of the Lord Mayor under Sub section 3 of section 9 of the KCCA Act 2010 appointed Councilor Doreen Nyanjura as deputy Lord Mayor.
On Wednesday afternoon, he presented Nyanjura to Council for approval as law dictates.
In June 2020, Nyanjura was appointed to replace Sarah Kanyike as deputy Lord Mayor, who by then had been nominated for a government job at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).
Nyanjura who served as a vice guild president at Makerere University in 2013 and a member of the University Council also works as Secretary for Investment within the opposition outfit Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).
Lukwago also assigned John Mary Ssebuufu(Nakawa West), Olive Namazzi (Kyambogo) and Hakim Kizza(Lubaga North II) as Executive Secretaries for finance and administration, health and works respectively.
All these delegates were approved and confirmed by the KCCA Council during the first KCCA council meeting at City Hall.
