UYD President and Ag DP Spokesperson, Ismail Kiirya on Thursday (October 19) urged the youth to desist from betraying their political party ideologies. This was at the inauguration of new FDC National Executive Committee leaders (FDC Youth League) at Najjanankumbi on yesterday.

“What you have exhibited here is what you’re supposed to do. However much you disagree with the party, never make a mistake to betray the mainstream,” Kiirya said.

The warnings come at a time when FDC is divided into two factions with each fact accusing the other of violating party constitution, dishonesty among others. The youth who are party’s strong political pillars are the victims of these internal conflicts.

But, Kiirya also the President of the Young Democrats Union of Africa (YDUA) says respecting and complying with mainstream party regulations is the only way the youth can address their disagreements.

Yesterday, the Forum for Democratic Change EC conducted successful elections of youth and women national executive committees at their party headquarters in Najjanankumbi Kampala.

Adepo Francis was elected the national youth secretary while Agnes Kisakye was elected the chairperson women’s league.
