The ministry of health in Uganda has confirmed a death case of Ebola patient in country’s capital Kampala.
Jane Ruth Aceng, the minister of health said the confirmed death was at Kiruddu hospital.
According to her, an index case which passed on 2 days ago, tested positive to EVD.
She revealed that the patient, who is a resident of Natete Kampala had a past travel history to Mubende where the first case was first reported and having realized that he was a suspected contact, he secretly escaped to luwero to seek traditional medication from a witch doctor. After the conditions worsened, he was rushed to Kiruddu where he died.
42 contacts have been listed including 10 health workers, and two contacts are now symptomatic, according to the ministry.
The ministry says that RRTs activated for active search and that they are setting up ETU at Entebbe RRH and Mulago National Referral in 48hrs.
