In a move to further improve passenger facilities, the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has announced new car parking charges at Entebbe International Airport, effective from November 1, 2024. The last revision of these rates was over a decade ago, in October 2009.

Acording to Vianney M Luggya the public affairs manager at UCAA, the revised charges for short-term parking see saloon cars and station wagons paying Uganda Shillings 5,000 for the first hour, vans and minibuses Uganda Shillings 8,000, and lorries, trailers, trucks, and buses Uganda Shillings 10,000. The hourly rate for all vehicles remains Uganda Shillings 1,000 beyond the first hour.

For long-term parking, the initial day will cost Uganda Shillings 30,000, with each subsequent day at Uganda Shillings 10,000. However, after 30 days, the rate increases significantly to Uganda Shillings 200,000 per day to discourage prolonged stays. The UCAA recommends not parking for more than 30 days in the long-term car park.

“Further details, including rates for frequent users, are available on the UCAA website and social media,” said Luggya.
