The President of the Demic Party [DP] Nobert Mao has addresses his first media brief for the first time since he was appointed to serve as minister of justice and constitutional affairs under the government of President Yoweri K Museveni.

During the press briefing, Mao spit fire at DP Members of Parliament who he accuses of betraying him at the nineth hour denying knowledge on the recent agreement he signed with the  ruling NRM, stating that they were informed and were aware of the agreement

DP holds its weekly press briefs on every Tuesday, however, compared to the previous briefings, today’s brief was quite unique as there was a heavy deployment of security personnels from different security agencies in the country

Mao used this opportunity to scorn at the party leaders and supporters ill-talking about his appointment and the signing of the corporation agreement with President Museveni insisting that they are wolves in a flock because they were aware of all the steps taken to reach this agreement.

He said the betraying legislators did not only know about the signing of the agreement but also went further to consult from other party leaders and elders who seconded the move

The justice  minister also said that many Ugandans think he no longer have any relevancy in the political development of this country but, he says that they will be thankful to his greater contribution because the agreement he signed with Museveni is in the interests of all Ugandans not only DP members.

In addition, Mao has told DP legislators collecting signatures to censure him as the DP President in a “Vote of No Confidence” that they are wasting time stating that nothing has been done without the consent of the party’s leadership

A section of the DP leaders have staryed to collect signatures from their supporters to censure Mao’s presidency accusing him of conspiracies and working with their long time rival Yoweri Kaguta Museveni

The disgruntled leaders also want the DP Secretary General Gerald Ssiranda that witnessed the signing of this controversial agreement to redign his dutied at the country’s oldest political party

Clauses within the corporation agreement  are still kept confidential between the two signatories of DP and NRM, but there are speculations that the president promised to appoint at least five DP members to fatty positions in the government
