KAMPALA
The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) National Chairperson,Hin. Jack Sabiiti has issued a formal notice to top party leadership to the National Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 13th August, 2025.
In a notice seen by Parrots Media, the meeting will take place at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, Kampala, starting promptly at 9:00am.
“All council members have been instructed to attend without fail,” Sabiiti says.

The National Council is composed of a broad representation from across the party structure. This includes all district chairpersons, members of the National Executive Committee, all FDC Members of Parliament, and delegates from the Elders, Youth, and Women leagues.
Also expected are parliamentary flag bearers from each sub-region who did not succeed in the last general elections, along with elected local government district chairpersons and mayors affiliated with the party.
The meeting comes at a critical time as Uganda’s political environment continues to evolve ahead of the 2026 general elections. Addressing journalists at the unveiling of the party’s presidential flag bearer last week, Sabiiti announced cancellation of the party delegates conference that was slated for July 31, instead called for a national council meeting to plot party direction.
Among the issues to be discussed during the meeting include party’s direction in preparation for the 2026 general elections, and the election strategies.
