Property worth millions has been destroyed in a fire incident that happened in Kalerwe Kampala early this day.
Fire gutted business kiosks in a place called Pentagon near Kalerwe flyover on the Kampala – Gayaza road.
The fire is said to have started from a charcoal stove abandoned in one of the resident’s houses before spreading to other nearby kiosks.
Locals say they tried to put out the fire but failed. They accuse the fire brigade team of not responding on time to extinguish the fire despite the frequent calls.
A number of business merchandise , kiosks were destroyed in the fire and no life was lost, according to reports.
Residents who lost property in the fire have appealed to the government to run to their rescue and give them a stimulus package to recover from their losses.
Police had not yet issued a statement by the time of compiling this report. But, the fire and rescue team had managed to put off the fire.
