Fire guts Chogam slums in Lubowa.
Unknown fire outbreaks have destroyed to zero wooden houses in Lubowa Makindye Ssabagabo Wakiso district.
The fires that started at around 10AM destroyed wooden houses and business stalls in Seguku , at a slum known as Chogam upper Lubowa opposite Quality supermarket.
According to residents and local leaders, the source of fire has not yet been established.

Residents say when the fires started, everyone started to run for their dear lives and no properties were rescued.
Ibrahim Ssendi, the area LCV councillor has told Parrots reports that the destroyed houses accomodate families and people’s businesses. He says that they were all burnt to ashes leaving dozens of people homeless.
The area member of parliament Dr. David Sserukenya visited the scene of the incident. He has appealed to the ministry of disaster preparedness and refugee under the office of the prime minister to respond in support for the victims with housing, food and financial support.
When Parrots UG contacted the state minister for relief, disaster preparedness and refugee, Esther Davinia Anyakun, she said that the ministry does not have funds at the moment but the issue has been taken pending to be considered.
By the time of compiling this report, the police fire and rescue team was at the scene in efforts to extinguish the fire. No fatalities have so far been reported.
