Five people are dead, and seven others injured after an Isuzu Elf truck lost control and rammed into motorcycles in Kampala
The fatal accident happened earlier today (October 27) at about 0830/c at Kabuusu round about in Rubaga Division, Kampala.
The motor vehicle involved is Reg no UBH 321T Isuzu Elf that was being driven by a one Ssembatya Gerald, while the five motorcycles involved were all bajaj boxers, UFN 226F, UET 422T, UEZ 579U, UFH 520P, UEX 504C and a bicycle (sport bike).
ASP Faridah Nampiima, the spokesperson Traffic and road safety has identified the deceased as Nansubuga Florence, a passenger on bike, Ssemfuma, Ssemata Gerald, Semei Ndondo all riders and one person that was also ridding yet to be identified.
“The five people who died included four Males, one female while seven of the injured five are Males and two females,” Nampiima explained
The bodies of the deceased were conveyed to Kcca mortuary for postmortem examination, while the injured victims rushed to Mulago Referral Hospital, for treatment.
Nampiima has attributed the cause of the accident to the Isuzu ELF truck which lost control while coming from Rubaga road and rammed and knocked five motorcycles and bicycle that were entering Kabusu roundabout.
