A 5-year-old girl has died after she was electrocuted while playing with her colleagues, police reported.
The deceased, Rehema Ayomirwoth was playing with other children near a drainage channel when she came into contact with a live wire supporting an electric pole, resulting into a fatal death.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at around 11a.m. in Kakungulu zone, Kibuli suburb, Makindye Division, Kampala.
Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, confirmed this report, noting that police from Kabalagala police station visited the scene, managed it and body was taken to City Mortuary Mulago for a postmortem.
Meanwhile, investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
