Four passengers are nursing wounds at Rugazi Health Centre IV in Rubirizi district after they were injured in Wednesday early morning Global Bus.
The accident occurred at about 6:10am at Nyakashaaru, along the Ishaka–Kasese road
The Greater Bushenyi Regional Police spokesperson SP Apollo Tayebwa said the driver of Isuzu bus, registration number UBH 881B, was trying to dodge knocking a pedestrian leading to a single crash, injuring four passengers.
He identified the injured passengers as AnnaTwinomugisha, 28, Shadita Nalubega 21, Harriet Nakilarila, and a juvenile only identified as Rahim. All the victims are female.
Police visited and processed the scene before rushing the injured to Rugazi Health Centre IV in Rubirizi District, where they are currently receiving treatment.
“We impounded the bus & released the driver on Police bond as investigations are still ongoing,” Tayebwa said.
Authorities have urged motorists and other road users to strictly observe traffic regulations to minimise road crashes.
Police also wished the injured passengers a quick recovery.
