St Kizito High School Namugongo Showcases Innovation , Research , Shines at the 4th National Agricultural Education Show 2025

At the the 4th National Agricultural Education Show (NAES) 2025, St Kizito High School Namugongo presented some of its most groundbreaking projects aimed at addressing pressing challenges not only in Uganda but globally, emerging among the best exhibitors again.

The show was organised by the Ministry of Education and Sports (MOES) in collaboration with the Uganda National Farmers Federation (UNFFE) and Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) from 6 th to 12 th July 2025 at the Jinja National Agriculture Show grounds.

The 4th edition of NAES is aligned with the Ministry’s Competency-based Lower Secondary Curriculum, which emphasizes Project-Based Learning (PBL) and the acquisition of 21 st Century skills including critical thinking, creativity, digital literacy, and problem-solving

St Kizito High School Namugongo proudly participated in the Agricultural Education Show , a national platform bringing together institutions to showcase innovations, research, and practical solutions in agriculture and education where an estimated 200,000 participants, including over 100 exhibiting schools and numerous visitors from academia, government, and private sector attended.

The schools’s presence at the event reflects its commitment to promoting sustainable development through applied learning and community engagement.

Led by Florence Nambejja, St. Kizito High school Namugongo’s team was fully immersed in the week-long event, representing the school with commendable enthusiasm, creativity, and resilience.

During the exhibition, St. Kizito High school Namugongo showcased impactful projects demonstrating the school’s ongoing efforts to translate classroom knowledge into real-world solutions, particularly in the areas of environmental health, food security, and sustainable farming.

‘’The exhibition offered a learning experience for all participants as our children showcased exceptional skills and innovations . Institutions at all levels—from primary to tertiary experienced high levels of innovation exhibited by St.Kizito high school. The display of practical, income-generating innovations reinforced the importance of commercializing research and encouraged the schools to accelerate their own technology transfer and incubation strategies’’, said Nambejja, appreciating the students for their resilience which have earned them recognition among the participants.

This inspired a reflection on how schools can better harness their internal capacities, particularly in engineering and agriculture, to move prototypes beyond the lab and into the market.

St.Kizito’s successful presence was made possible through the dedication and teamwork of its staff and students.

‘’The team worked diligently to prepare exhibition materials, brand the school’s booth, and provide engaging presentations to guests, visitors, and students from across the country. One of the most notable contributions came from our students. Their knowledge of the setup and logistics ensured that the school’s team received proper support and representation throughout the event’’, added Nambejja.

This is not the first time St. Kizito high school is making it to the greater heights.

Last month during the National Science week 2025, the Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Monica Musenero hailed St. Kizito High School, Namugongo for actively promoting science and innovation through various initiatives.

Musenero said these innovations are fostering a culture of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning, encouraging students to pursue careers in these fields.

Last year , the school was recognized as a Zayed Sustainability Prize finalist as the president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, announced the 2025 winners of the annual event. President Museveni presided over the function.
