Hon. Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal, the District Woman Representative for Dokolo, will be laid to rest on Wednesday, 24th January 2024, following her passing on Sunday, 21st January. The official funeral program has been announced, outlining the schedule of events leading up to the burial.
On Monday, 22nd January, the body of Hon. Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal will arrive at Entebbe airport at 2:10 p.m. and will be received by the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament and the family. The body will then be transferred to Mulago Hospital and later to A-Plus Funeral home.
The following day, Tuesday, 23rd January, the body will depart from A-Plus Funeral home at 8:00 a.m. and will be received at Parliament at 9:00 a.m. for viewing. A special sitting will be held at 12:00 noon to pay tribute to the late Hon. Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal.
After the tribute and viewing, the body will move to her residence in Bugolobi, Kampala for a vigil. On Wednesday, 24th January, the funeral program will continue with the body departing from her Bugolobi residence to All Saints Cathedral, Nakasero for a funeral service at 9:00 a.m. The body will then proceed to Dokolo, with a stopover in Soroti for a vigil at Adok Sub-County.
On Thursday, 25th January, the body will depart from Adok for a Joint Council Sitting at Dokolo District Headquarters, which will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. From there, the body will proceed to Lira City for another vigil.
The following day, Friday, 26th January, the body will depart from the Lira City residence for a church service at St. Augustine Cathedral, Bar Ogole, at 9:00 a.m. Later in the day, at 3:00 p.m., a service will be held at St. Paul Church, Alito Archdeaconry, Kole District. The body will then be taken to her home in Dog Gudu Cell, Alito Town Council, Kole District for the vigil.
On Saturday, 27th January, a church service will be held at her home in Alito at 10:00 a.m., followed by viewing of the body. The burial program will commence at 9:00 a.m., honoring the late Hon. Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal.
This funeral program aims to give the public an opportunity to pay their respects and honor the life and contributions of a respected representative. The schedule has been carefully planned to ensure a dignified and respectful farewell.
