KAMPALA
President Museveni has used his constitutional powers to accord official burial to ex-health minister Henry Kyemba, government spokesperson said.
Kyemba passed on Thursday October 19 at URO Care Hospital in Kampala.
In a condolence message by the government spokesperson, a hybrid of national organizing committee headed by the minister of presidency, Hon. Milly Babalanda and representatives from the bereaved family has been set up to oversee the funeral arrangements.
“H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni inline with Article 29 of the 1995 constitution of the Republic of Uganda as amended which vests executive authority in Uganda in the president, has therefore declared that the late Hon. Henry K Magumba Kyemba be accorded an official burial,” read a statement in parts.
Government will foot bills for the funeral starting from Sunday October 22 to Thursday October 26, when the deceased will be buried in Bugembe, Jinja City.
The president further ordered police to give a three gun salute to the deceased one way of recognizing his efforts towards national development.
