Unknown assailants on Sunday shot and killed a businessman involved in the money lending business in Mbarara City. Police investigations into the incident are ongoing
The deceased has been identified as Lauben Sunday, 45, a resident of Kakiika Division, Mbarara City. He was killed by unknown gunmen riding on a Boda Boda while burning garbage at his rental property.
According to ASP Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi regional police spokesperson officers visited the scene, documented the incident, and recorded statements from eyewitnesses.
The body was taken to Mbarara hospital mortuary for a postmortem.
Residents allege that Sunday’s death may be linked to a family dispute over property left behind by their late father, John Babyehuzya, who passed away in 2023.
