Catastrophically, heavy wind, heavy down pour and snow were potentially on Saturday 28th September, 2024 destroyed gardens and buildings in Rushenyi County.
The Headteacher Kaina Primary school Mr Robert Tumushabe said that on Saturday,28th, September, 2024, the heavy down pour in company with cyclonic winds that blown off the roofings of staff offices, two classes, P.4 and P.7, all confinements in the staff office were washed away by the running water.
The Headteacher is now calling on well wishers, political leaders, parents and government to come to their rescue before the situation deteriorate. Adding that they are obstructed where pupils of those affected class Will be studying from.The school has the capacity of 630 students.
He added that affected school started in 1952 with lower classes under church and later was taken by the government and got P.7 class in 1979.
The Headteacher speaking to our reporter over the anonymity said they need over 100 iron sheets to reverse the shape of the affected structures Wich will cost them millions of money.
The old boy at Kaina Primary school Mr Ronald Kwansibwe reiterated that the government should come to their rescue.
Also in Kagango I cell the banana plantations and bean gardens were destroyed by heavy wind and snow.
According to Mr Bernad Turyamureba a resident of Kagango I cell, Kagango ward Rubaare town council told our reporter that his plantation and his two acre bean garden were destroyed by wind and snow. Turyamureba appealed today the authorities to come to their rescue because he expect the village to suffer a serious hunger.
He also said that they were expecting to harvest much in their gardens to look after their families and surplus for sale but to their dismay are frustrated on what to do after the catastrophy.
