On October 24th, during a prestigious award dinner held at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Holy Innocents Children’s Hospital-Mbarara was honored as the Best Private Not-for-Profit Hospital in Uganda. The recognition was presented by the Local Neonatal and Maternal Health Services (LNMS), celebrating excellence in healthcare delivery.
This marks the hospital’s second consecutive national accolade, following last year’s award from the Ministry of Health under the “Heroes in Health” category where it was named the Best Private Hospital in the country.
Speaking at parrots media after the event, Dr. Businge Stephen, CEO of Holy Innocents Children’s Hospital, attributed the hospital’s continued success to its unique approach. “At Holy Innocents, business is unusual that’s why we keep winning awards,” he remarked. “After receiving the HIHA award last year, I told our staff that our only option was to maintain excellence. Iam not surprised we have won again. We have not declined,we have improved.”
In addition to the hospital’s recognition, Dr. Mike Kyewalyanga, a pediatrician at Holy Innocents, was awarded Pediatrician of the Year. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who voted for him and pledged to continue providing outstanding care. “Iam happy that my hard work has been recognized,” he said. “I promise even better services ahead.”
Holy Innocents Children’s Hospital continues to set the benchmark for compassionate, high-quality healthcare in Uganda’s private health sector.
