KAMPALA
Equity Bank Uganda has recognized and rewarded one of its frontline staff for exemplary service that has captured the admiration of both customers and the public.
Betty Akia, a security guard stationed at the Church House branch in Kampala, was honored today for her outstanding dedication to customer service. The recognition comes after a heartfelt social media post from a satisfied customer, Margret Abwoyo, who praised Betty for her exceptional professionalism and warm customer care.
In her post on X (formerly Twitter), Margret, under the handle @Margretabwoyo2, wrote: “This lady at Equity Bank Church House shouldn’t be a security guard. She deserves to be the head of customer care. She might not have papers, but she has the talent for customer relations. She created a good image of the Bank right at the door.”
The post quickly went viral, resonating with many users who echoed her sentiments and called on the bank to acknowledge Betty’s efforts. Responding to the overwhelming support online, Equity Bank acted swiftly to celebrate one of their own.
Today, the bank’s Managing Director, Gift Shoko, personally presented Betty Akia with a cash reward of UGX 500,000 as a token of appreciation for her outstanding service praising Betty for embodying the values of Equity Bank.
