KAMPALA
Buganda Road Court has further remanded until August 24 to Luzira prison, PC Ivan Wabire, a police officer that shot and killed Indian national money lender Uttam Bhandari Saremalan.
Court presided over by the chief magistrate Ronald Kayiizi heard that the prosecution led by Ivan Kyazze is still investigating into the matter. The prosecution asked court to adjourn the hearing stating that they will commit to court, PC Wabwire on the next sitting session.
This prompted the magistrate to adjourn the case until August 24, 2023, for committal.
On May 12, 2023, PC Ivan Wabwire, a resident of CPS Kampala police Barracks shot and killed Uttam Bhandari Saremal, an Indian national dealing in money lending business at while at Raja Chambers along Parlimanetary Avenue in Kampala.
