The police in Mbarara has commenced on investigations into circumstances underwhich an Indian national died in a Lodge in Mbarara.
ASP Samson Kasasira, the PRO Rwizi region police has identified the deaceased as Narasimha Prasad, 57, an Engineer working in Mwizi, Rwampara District
He was found dead in a bathroom at Hotel B-Plus Guest House located along Buremba road in Kisenyi cell Kakoba division Mbarara City
“The territorial police of Mbarara City Central Division has today the 17/03/2022 opened a death inquiry file into the sudden death of Mr. Narasimha Prasad male adult aged 57years Indian by nationality a civil engineer who has been working in Mwizi Rwampara district”, said Kasasira
According to Kasasira, the deceased had on Wednesday 16th March, 2022, at around 1730hrs booked a room to sleep for the night at the hotel only to be found dead today
Police was notified of the incident and visited the scene to ascertain the situation.
The body of the deceased has been to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem to ascertain the cause of death.
On Thursday noon, a local Television, TV West alleged in their reports that the deceased had a woman in his room.
This created suspicions that Prasada could have been killed. However, police did not comment anything on the allegations
By press time, no arrests had been made.
