On the 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time, six deacons were ordained as priests at Rushoroza Cathedral in Kabale Diocese. The ordination ceremony was led by Bishop Callist Rubaramira, with Rev. Fr. Placid Mugumya delivering the homily.
In his homily, Rev. Fr. Mugumya emphasized the importance of embracing God’s will and working towards eternal life. He also highlighted the role of priests as kings who fight against Satan, administering sacraments and preaching the word of God.
Bishop Rubaramira expressed gratitude to the parents of the newly ordained priests for offering their children to serve in God’s vineyard. He emphasized the global missionary work that the priests will undertake on behalf of Kabale Diocese and reminded them to live by example, protect their integrity, and administer sacraments with devotion.
The cathedral was filled with joy and jubilation as the Bishop received the newly ordained priests, urging them to commit to daily prayer and represent Christ with honor. The occasion was a momentous celebration for the Kabale Catholic Diocese, welcoming six new priests to serve the community.
