Today Mr. Katara has fulfilled his pledge of 150 iron sheets, 26 valleys and 45 garries , rubber washers and roofing nails as he had pledged on 8th May,2023 during a fundraising mass where over twelve million Uganda shillings was raised by Christians of Katojo catholic sub parish in Buyanja Town council, Rukungiri district towards the construction of the priest’s house.
Ernest Ngabirano Katara the Manager Administration at National Water and Sewerage Corporation who was the guest of honor hailed Christians of Katojo for working hard towards the completion of the house and pledged to contribute 150 iron sheets.
While handing over the iron sheets today at Katojo catholic sub parish, Katara called upon christians not to feel shy and contribute whatever they can afford to enable the construction to get finished on time.
Upon completion of the priest’s house, the sub parish will be elevated to parish on 13th August this year.
The head of laity for the sub parish Nshoborokirwe Anthony who is also the speaker of Buyanja town council hailed Mr. Katara for honoring his pledge and on time. He called for more support from all corners to ensure that they get the work done before 13th August.
Nshoborokirwe revealed to our reporter that there is still a lot needed to accomplish the project but believes Christians will make it happen as they have always done on other church projects.
Nshoborokirwe said preparations are underway as they await to receive a parish and their resident priests. He said this will save them the long distance to Nyakibale parish for Mass.
Nshoborokirwe calls upon all christians and we’ll wishers to join them to enable the sub parish attain the parish status. He said they still need approximately 155 million Ugandan shillings to finish the priest’s house.
