Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), businessman Hamis Kigundu alias Ham, and St. Balikuddembe Catholic Memorial in Owino Market have reached a harmonious agreement regarding long-standing sewerage issues. This was during a stakeholders meeting chaired by KCCA’s interim Executive Director, Frank Rusa Nyakaana. The meeting concluded with a decision to suspend sewerage development until the authority assesses the situation.
City tycoon Hamis Kigundu expressed satisfaction with the meeting’s outcome, highlighting plans for further discussions on sewerage development and Nakivubo stadium renovations. Notably, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has requested repairs to all sewers surrounding the stadium.
Interim KCCA CEO Rusa urged Owino market workers and residents to remain calm and reassured them of KCCA readiness to address the sewage concerns. This collaborative effort demonstrates KCCA’s commitment to resolving key infrastructure challenges.
