A woman in Kibaale District is accused of killing her husband, Onesmus Twijukye, 30, in a suspected case of domestic violence.
The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, allegedly confronted Twijukye over his involvement in selling a family radio set without her permission, escalating into a physical altercation.
Eyewitnesses report that the woman used a sharp machete to attack her husband, inflicting fatal injuries which he succumbed to.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Police spokesperson for the Albertine region, said the incident took place in the rural village of Omurugoro in Bubango, Kibaale District. Hakiza stated that investigations are ongoing, meanwhile as authorities are still working to gather more details on the incident.
“At this stage, we are still collecting evidence, and further developments will be communicated once available,” Hakiza said.
