Police is in a state of fear of possible religious disaster like the March 2,000 Restoration of Ten Commandments of God, also known as the Cult movement funded by Joseph Kibwetere that claimed lives of over 700 people in an inferno in Kanungu District.

The panic follow disappearance reports of a Pentecostal pastor in Mityana  Pastor Samuel Kalibala together with seven of his flocks.

According to police, Pr Kalibara disappeared with several of his church followers including a family of seven members. one week ago.

Police has identified the 7 family members as Namuwaya Jesca, (the wife to Kintu Sulait), Ssekyewa Shakim, aged 19, Nampeewo Shifrah aged 17, Muteesasira Muhammad aged 10, Ssenabulya Muhammed aged 8, Nakintu Angel aged 4 and Uwuzeeye Mable, they disappeared from their home in Naama Central LCI, Naama Ward, Busimbi Division, in Mityana Municipality.

Police and relatives of the followers say the pastor and his followers locked their homes and have since switched off their known contacts.

Police spokesperson CP Fred Enanga has said that they have started on tracking the pastor’s movements after one of his followers contacted her family before switching off the phone.

“We are meanwhile following leads, after one of the followers, established contact with one of her daughters whom, she left behind. She immediately after switched off the phones and did not reveal her whereabouts”, said Enanga

Enanga expressed concerns on pastors “not guided” by the spirit in their pastoral ministries stating that such acts may result into the early 2000 massacres.

“It is unfortunate that we have a Pastor, who is not transparent in his methods and for using his divine powers, to control his followers. Such conduct has a potential of opening wounds for relatives to missed their loved ones, during the Kibwetere cult saga in Kanungu”, he said

He has assured families that police will trace the secret place of these people and unity them back to their families.

“We want to assure the families that they should not lose hope as the search is ongoing. We shall trace for the secret location, and bring all perpetrators to book.” Enanga assured

Meanwhile, 3 accomplices of Pastor Kalibala Samuel, who helped transport the victims have been arrested to help police in investigation. They include Harriet Kajubi, a 53 year old teacher, Nalweyiso Harriet, a 62 year old midwife and Ssekyewa Shakim, an 18 year old student.
