The National Resistance Movement (NRM) 1st National Vice Chairman, Al-Hajji Moses Kigongo has called on political leaders to embrace peace, unity and dialogue as a way forward in solving stalemates in political arena.
Kigongo was speaking during the Democratic Party (DP) hosted Iftar dinner and Duwa prayers at the party’s headquarters along Balintuma road in Rubaga division, Kampala when he asked all political parties to take as model DP and the ruling NRM to unity people despite their racial, religious and political differences.
He challenged politicians that character assassination in politics will lead them into hell calling for dialogue to address indifferences in politics. He further asked muslims to frequently read and desist from wrongful use of the Quran to prove and justify their arguments.
Speaking at the iftar prayers, the Democratic Party Vice President Hon. Fred Mukasa Mbidde decried the bad state of roads in Uganda and urged the government to work on national roads. Middle further said DP’s relationship with the Islamic faith is a long-standing and hailed muslims for accepting to attend their organized Iftar dinner and Duwa prayers.
