Lugazi FC has completed the signing of 19-year-old South Sudanese talent, Lumumba Norman. The club confirmed the news on their official Twitter account.
The gifted youngster has signed a three-year contract, becoming the first foreign player to join the league leaders.
An accomplished South Sudanese international at the youth level, Lumumba’s attacking prowess and creative play were instrumental in South Sudan’s U-20 national team reaching the quarterfinals of the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations. He was also a key member of the Junior Bright Stars squad that competed in the 13th All Africa Games in Ghana last year.
“It’s a fresh start to prove my worth, adapt to a new environment, and aim for huge success as we write the story together. Most importantly, this is a great opportunity for me to grow as a player,” Lumumba said.
“I have been following this team for some time. Its fantastic style of play attracted me here, and I believe it will give me the opportunity to grow in a more competitive environment,” he added.
As Lumumba settles into the team, the question remains whether he will meet the expectations of Lugazi FC and its fans.
