Two people have been confirmed dead and three others seriously injured after a lorry truck rammed into roadside shops in Kamwenge town on Tuesday.
The truck which was carrying dry maize from Fort Portal to Uganda district lost control and overturned at the Kamwenge town roundabout hitting two buildings on the roadside.
Two persons, all the occupants of the truck including the driver and his turn boy died on spot.
The Kamwenge District police commander, Diana Namutunzi has identified the deceased as Joshua, the driver and Jarken, the turn-boy.
Three people who were inside the rammed into building sustained serious injuries. These according to the DPC were identified Rodgers Mugisha, Mukibi and Enoch Tusingwire.
The said building houses shops, bars and a salon. Two of te injured were in a bar while the other was a client in a salon.
Police visited the scene of the accident, taken the deceased bodies to the hospital while the injured were rushed to Kagongo hospital in Ibanda District and Rukunyu Hospital in Kamwenge district.
