A Hoima man is accused of brutally beating his wife after she refused to have sex with him.
Steven Nyakatura, 42, a resident of Kibati cell, Hoima East City Division allegedly assaulted Christian Murungi, 42, using a high heel shoe causing injuries on the head, neck and other body parts.
It is alleged that the victim denied the suspect conjugal rights after he refused to take a shower. The woman was desperate and frantically trying to get out of the house when the husband beat her.
The Albertine region police spokesperson Julius Hakiza said after the suspect noticed that the victim was profusely bleeding, he called his friends and lied to them that he had caught her red-handed having sexual intercourse with another man in his house leading to a fight.
Upon interrogation by authorities, it was later established that the suspect declined to bathe prompting the wife to deny him sex. Murungi is currently receiving treatment at Divine Clinic Duhaga and the suspect is in police custody.
