HOIMA
Two women in Hoima district are breathing behind the bars after they were arrested for alleged murder of a man, who was reportedly killed following a domestic dispute over supper.
The Albertine South Police spokesperson, Julius Hakiza, identified the deceased as George Asaba. He reportedly returned home late and declined to eat the meal prepared by his wife, Naima Ntegeka prompting a confrontation.
“The refusal led to a violent confrontation between the couple. During the scuffle, another woman identified as Scovia joined in to support Ntegeka, and together they assaulted Asaba, leading to his death,” Hakiza said.
Police responded to the scene and arrested both Ntegeka and Scovia, who are currently detained at Hoima Central Police Station as investigations continue.
Hakiza condemned the act and urged couples to seek peaceful ways of resolving domestic misunderstandings instead of resorting to violence.
Asaba’s body was taken to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem examination as police pursue further inquiries into the incident.
