The search for Judith Ninsiima, a senior midwife at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, has ended in tragedy. Her body was discovered in River Rwizi on September 10, seven days after she went missing.
Judith, a dedicated healthcare professional, was last seen leaving her home for work on September 3rd. Her disappearance sparked a massive search effort, with colleagues, friends, and family members rallying to find her after her husband filed a case of a missing person at Katete police station in Mbarara city South.
The police and local authorities launched an investigation into her disappearance, but unfortunately, her body was found in the river, bringing an end to the search.
The cause of death is yet to be determined, and an autopsy will be conducted to establish the circumstances surrounding her tragic demise.
Judith’s colleagues and friends have expressed shock and grief at the news, describing her as a compassionate and skilled midwife who dedicated her life to saving mothers.
The hospital administration has issued a statement condoling with Judith’s family and promising to support them during this difficult time on their X formerly tweeter handle.
The community is still reeling from the news, and an outpouring of tributes and condolences has been seen on social media especially her colleagues in medical profession.
