Police in Kabale district is hunting for unknown criminals who murdered a 40 year old man in cold blood.
The Kigezi Region Police spokesperson Elly Maate identified the deceased as Taremwa Fred who was working as a mechanic in Mwanjari trading center in Kabale township.
“The late was found dead at Nyakijumba along Kabale – Mbarara road with serious head injuries,” Maate revealed.
Maate also added that the deceased left home for work on Friday 24th September 2021 at 2pm and on Saturday his body was discovered lying helpless in a pool of blood. A murder case was reported and registered at Kabale central police station under reference number CRB 814/2021.
“The case of murder was reported by Tibyitu Silverno the LC1 Chairperson Bugandara village in Kyanamira parish, Kyanamira sub county, Kabale district that on Saturday morning at around 06:30am,” Maate added.
The Regional Police spokesperson asked members of the public with any information that may be connected to this incident to report to the nearest police station.
“I ask whoever may be having information pertaining this murder to cooperate with security so that the perpetrators are apprehended, brought to book and charged accordingly.” Maate asked.
In an interview with the press, Maate confirmed that Police visited the scene, post-mortem was done, and the body was handed over to relatives for a decent burial.
Police has commenced investigations to ascertain what could be the motive of the alleged murder and to have the perpetrators arrested.
