The minister for Information Technology and National Guidance Dr. Chris Baryomunsi has slapped on the wrist to the president of Transformer Cadres Association of Uganda (TCAU), Felix Adupo Ongwech declining his anomolous appointment.

It should be recalled that on May 27, the embattled Adupo named Dr. Baryomunsi the board member of the Transformer cadre something the minister has rebuked.

According to the minister, he did not receive any formal communications on his appointment prior to the announcements and no official appointment letter has been served to him besides the hearsays on social media.

He says it is undesirable to appoint someone to any position without their consents.

Baryomusi was appointed among other four members to serve as advisors to the TCAU board. They include Advocate Adam Makmot Kibwanga, Hon. Harriet Nabatanzi Senior Presidential advisor on political affairs David Mafabi and Ian Gumisiriza.

“With power invested in me by the constitution and rules of procedure Section 16, e,f,g and section 19 of Our rules of procedure, I proceed and appointment the following person to fill the vacancy positions,” read an appointment letter in part

In an appointment letter, Adupo also announced he had appointed among others Hon. Easter Wafula Busingye, appointed national chief cordinator, Amb. Richard Laus Angualia, appointed director research and development, Amoriot Margaret Khedi, deputy director communications and publicity among others. Click to see full List of TCAU Appointment2022

Reliable sources have told Parrots UG that Adupo’s appointments were not agreed to by the association’s executive committee and he is doing it as a sole man’s decision.

“He is working with a few individuals to appoint he thinks will rubber stamp his dirt in the association. But, we are happy some concerned individuals are declining him”, said anonymous source.

Baryomunsi’s decline comes barely four days ago after David K Mafabi, the presidential advisor on political affairs (special duties) declined the appointment on grounds that he does not agree to the propositions of the association and that he was never formally briefed on the appointment.

Adupo’s term as the TCAU President has been marked by condemnations from the members of the association with many accusing him of embezzlement of the accociation’s SACCO money which ended him to Wandegeya police station last week.

He is also being accused of conniving with some members of the association such as Didas Taboora, Ronah Kemirembe Rulanga, Abdullah Kasalawo, Winfred Akidi Ochaya, Malik Kiberu and Onesmus Tumutegyerize to create divisions within the Transformers and protect Adupa’s ill intentions.

Furthermore, Adupa is accused of misconducts after he was last week on Friday released on a second bond for assaulting a one Hillary Ainesaasi.

According to a case statement SD Ref no 6i/27/5/2022, recorded at 2andegeya police station which PARROTS UG has seen, Aduba allegedly assaulted Ainesaasi who reported the matter to police but was released on Police bond.

He is accused along with kemirembe Rona Rulanga, Ogwachi Akidi Winfred, and Didas Taboora. They were all released on bond.
