The State Minister for Internal Affairs, Gen. David Muhoozi, has dismissed as malicious and unfounded social media reports alleging that he criticised members of the First Family.
A video circulating on TikTok in recent days attributes disparaging remarks to Gen. Muhoozi, claiming that he criticised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his son, the Chief of Defence Forces, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and allegedly called on Ugandans to engage in violence.
However, the minister has distanced himself from the claims, describing them as fabricated and intended to cause disharmony within government and the public.
“Reports that the minister criticised the President and the CDF, inciting Ugandans, are completely fabricated, misleading and intended to show disharmony within the government and division among the public,” the minister said in a statement read to him by the ministry’s spokesperson, Simon Peter Mundeyi.

Muhoozi emphasised that the allegations are false and urged members of the public to disregard them.
“The authors of these posts, regardless of their motives, are in blatant breach of the law through misuse of social media. The matter is under investigation and those responsible will be held fully accountable,” he said.
Mundeyi added that the TikTok page in question has been spreading what he termed as baseless rumours and “rubbish”, warning that legal action would be taken against those behind the posts.
According to the ministry, the posts are designed to undermine national unity and create unnecessary tension within the country.
