UPDF’s longest serving officer, Kodili, bows out .

The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) fraternity in solidarity with the people of Moyo are mourning the death of one of its longest-serving officers, Brig. Gen. Mark Ayiasi Kodili, who passed on Thursday, January 6, 2022 morning at Victoria hospital.

Kodili had retired from active service from the UPDF in 2018 and has been battling diabetes and high blood pressure for a quite donkeys years.

Col Deo Akiiki, the former UPDF deputy spokesperson eulogized the fallen serviceman.
“Sad to learn of the passing on of one of the former longest-serving Chief of personnel and Administration of the UPDF Brig Gen Mark Kodili. He is the only CPA we knew as young and vibrant 2Lts and indeed he guided us as a parent. Rest in Peace Gen Mark,” Col Akiiki tweeted.

Kodili has been serving as the coordinator for Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) in Madi-Sub region which includes the districts of Moyo, Adjumani and Obongi in West Nile region. On his death bed, He departed from life at around 5:00am.

Kodili had recently undergone an operation after his leg muscles got swollen, according to medical experts, the swelling of muscles happens when the tissues or blood vessels in the legs hold more fluid than they should, and that this can be corrected with an operation.

Kodili will be laid to rest on 10th January 2022, at his ancestral home in Vurra, Moyo District.
