More than 30 are believed to have been killed in Wednesday night’s landslides that buried over 20 homes in Kimono Village, Buluganya Sub-county, Bulambuli District.
Hajjat Faheera Mpalanyi, the RDC of Bulambuli, confirmed that more than 30 individuals have been trapped under the debris.
This followed another incident in Sironko district where eight people lost their lives to floods and mudslides that hit Kesenji Village, Zebibi Parish, Bukyabo Sub-county, in Sironko district.
Reports indicate that at least 10 bodies in the Bulambuli tragic incident have so far been retrieved from the debris , and efforts to retrieve more bodies still trapped in debris are ongoing.
