The police in Luwero CPS are investigating a case of child torture by a mother accusing the child of stealing piece of meat.
ASP Sam Twineamazima, spokesperson for Savannah region police has identified the suspect asAisha Nampima, 27, a resident of Kiyenje zone, Luwero town Council, Luwero district.
According to Twineamazima, the suspect was seen by residents burning, kicking and beating her the victim, Nakalungi Shanizi Nambooze, 4, her biological daughter accusing her of stealing meat.
The residents intervened through their area councillor Zimula Salim who called the police.
“Our officers responded to the scene and arrested the suspect, while the victim was rushed to Kasana hospital where she is still admitted for treatment,” ASP Twineamazima said
A case of child torture was registered and police officers recorded statements from relevant witnesses. And inquiries into this matter are ongoing.
