Hon Juliet Agasha Bashiisha, the Woman MP for Mitooma district has donated about 60 hospital beds to different health facilities in Mitooma District.
She handed over the beds to health officials who will later distribute them to all health centers in Mitooma District.
Besides the beds, the woman MP also handed over delivery kits (midwife kits) to the in charges of different health centers to help expectant mothers during labor.
Speaking at the handover ceremony of the equipments at Mitooma Health Centre IV, Bashiisha noted that the beds were lobbied by her office from the ministry of health while the delivery kits were lobbied from the Nurses and Midwives union.
She urged the populace in Mitooma to regularly visit government health facilities in their respective areas for medical support. Expectant mothers have also been tipped on attending regular antenatal care to avoid preterm deliveries and other pregnancy complications.
She pledged to continue working with various ministries, agencies and organisations to lobby more health equipments and other social services to ease access to quality services in Mitooma.
It should be noted that since her election to the top women office in the district in January 2021, Hon. Bashiisha has been involved in a number of social and economic activities in all the three counties that make up Mitooma district such as communal works popularly known as “Bulungi Bwansi”, fundraisings for places of worships and schools, supporting rural financial groups among others. This has won her political slogan; “Servant Leadership.”
