KAMPALA
The Kampala Archdiocese has announced the funeral arrangements for the late Rev. Msgr. Expedito Magembe, who passed away on Friday 9th May, 2025.
According to a program released by Rev. Fr. Pius Male Ssentumbwe, Chancellor of Kampala Archdiocese, the burial will take place on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Kisubi Seminary Priests’ Cemetery.
“The funeral events will begin on Sunday, May 11, with the arrival of Msgr. Magembe’s body at Mt. Sion Prayer Center in Bukalango at 12:00 p.m., followed by a Requiem Mass at 1:00 p.m,” Fr. Male said.
” A series of Masses will then be held throughout the night in honor of the deceased, coordinated by the Assistant Directors,” he added.
On Monday, May 12, the body will be transferred to Kisubi Seminary at 8:00 a.m. A second Requiem Mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., followed by the burial at 2:00 p.m.
The Archdiocese has called on the faithful and members of the clergy to participate in the services and pray for the repose of Msgr. Magembe’s soul.
Msgr. Magembe, a prominent Catholic clergyman is remembered for his dedicated service to the Church and his role in spiritual leadership across Uganda.
He is a founder of Mt. Sion Bukalango Prayer Centre in Kakiri , Wakiso district, popularly known for its spiritual healing powers during end of the month Sangalo prayersm.
