The President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has warned politicians and other actors to against using their own resources to solve constituency problems.
Museveni made this appeal while meeting with the NRM flag bearers of the five divisions that make up Kampala yesterday at Kololo Independence grounds yesterday.
“If they listen and elect you, it will be good. If they don’t want to , you do other things and remain stable in your life.” Museveni said
The President also added that voters will come back if you convey the message of the NRM. But it’s not good and it’s a very big mistake to use personal money in politics.
“Of all my 63 years I have never sold my cows to to facilitate elections” Museveni added
The president was however sad to learn that the party had lost 15 flag bearers since elections and he promised to send 10million shillings for condolences to each of the families that lost their beloved ones.
The Minister for Kampala and Metropolitan Affairs, Hajjat Minsa Kabanda on behalf of other members thanked the President for being a good leader who listens to their problems.
“They also want to go to Kyankwanzi for leadership training. They’re our people and very useful to our part” kabanda. Said
The NRM Deputy Secretary General Hon. Rose Namayanja went ahead to praise the President for his stand against homosexuality and all his efforts aimed at preserving the culture and values of Uganda.
During the meeting, the NRM flag bearers congratulated President Museveni upon celebrating 50 years of marriage with his wife Mama Janet Museveni and said that it was a big statement in efforts to preserve family institutions in Uganda.
