President Museveni also the Commander-in-Chief of the National army has promoted 528 officers of the UPDF to different ranks in the army.
The pronouncement has been made by Lt Col. Ronald Kakurungu, the acting spokesperson of ministry of defence and veteran affairs on Sunday January, 16, 2022.
“The ministry of Defence and UPDF fraternity congratulates the officers upon promotions,”
According to the announcement, three officers have been promoted from the rank of Lieutenant Colonel to full Colonel, 27 from Major to Lieutenant Colonel and 498 from Captain to Major.
Kakurungu did not however mention in a statement names of the elevated officers.
