President Yoweri Museveni is set to embark on a tour of the Bunyoro region starting tomorrow, Tuesday, to assess the progress of government programs and launch key development projects.
During his visit, the president will meet farmers benefiting from the Parish Development Model in Buliisa, Kikuube, and Hoima districts. He will also officiate the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Bunyoro University and inspect the ongoing works at Hoima Olympic Stadium.
In preparation for the visit, Bunyoro leaders from various districts convened this afternoon at Hoima District Headquarters to strategize. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, who also serves as the Woman Member of Parliament for Kakumiro. She was welcomed by Finance Minister Matia Kasaija, Minister for Bunyoro Affairs Jenifer Namuyangu, State Minister for Works Fred Byamukama, State Minister for Investments Evelyn Anite, and State House Comptroller Jane Barikye, among others.
Speaking at the meeting, officials emphasized the importance of the president’s visit and encouraged the people of Bunyoro to turn up in large numbers to welcome him.
President Museveni’s tour will culminate on Friday with a grand rally in Kagadi District. However, some leaders have expressed concerns regarding the venue selected for the event.
The Prime Minister has called on residents to embrace the visit, noting that it presents an opportunity for the region to showcase its progress and discuss development priorities.
