Nebbi Catholic Diocese has lost their oldest priest, Fr Emilio Onegwa, 99., diocesan media house, Radio Pacis announced.
Fr Emilio who died today morning was due to celebrate his 100th birthday on December 8.
The priest’s death comes days after the Holy Father, Pope Francis 1 appointed a new bishop of Nebbi diocese.
On Tuesday, the Apostolic Nuncio to Rt. Rev. Luigi Bianco announced that the Pope had appointed the Rector of Uganda Marty’s National Major Seminary Alokolum -Gulu, Rev. Fr. Dr Constantine Rupiny, the New Bishop Ordinary of Nebbi Catholic Diocese.
Rev Fr Dr Constantine Rupiny replaces Archbishop Grace Raphael P’Mony Wokorach the Archbishop of Gulu Archdiocese who was formerly the Bishop of Nebbi Catholic Diocese.
