The minister of local government Raphael Magezi says the government is committed to boosting healthcare services in Sheema district.The minister made the pronouncements during a service to commission Kasaana CoU Health Center III in Kasaana, Sheema district on Sunday. He was representing the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja Musafiri as the Chief Guest at the function.
Dr. Nicholas Mwebesa, founder of Dr. Nicholas Foundation, shared his personal motivation for refurbishing the facility under West Ankole Diocese, expressing gratitude for his life being saved after a severe accident.
The health centre, built by Dr. Nicholas Mwebaze Mwebesa at a cost of 1.2 billion shillings, is expected to improve healthcare systems in Sheema district.
Hon. Rosemary Nyakikongoro, Sheema District Woman Member of Parliament, welcomed the hospital saying that it would reduce patient overcrowding at Kitagata hospital and increase access to healthcare services for residents.
During the ceremony, CoU ArchBishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Samuel Steven Kaziimba Mugalu urged the community to unite against corruption which he said hinders development and service delivery in the country.
