Former Masindi Resident District Commissioner, Emmy Ngabirano has officially assumed office as the new RDC for Bushenyi district.
Ngabirano replaces Robert Atuhairwe who was recently suspended from this office following reports of engaging in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a minor (Senior 3 girl) at Bweranyangi Girls SS.
On September 27, Atuhairwe reportedly trespassed to the school premises with expensive birthday gifts for his prey and caused commotion in the school which contravenws Public Service Standing Orders.
“A swam of students hugged him shouting Mura Mura and this caused commotion in the school. Meanwhile the Bishop who is also chair to the school BOD was passing by the school to his home and noticed the commotion. He took up the case,” reports revealed.
He was later suspended over gross misconduct which according to Hajji Yunus Kakande, Secretary, office of the president undermines the integrity of the presidency.
“I am therefore constrained to allow you to continue executing your duties as a Resident District Commissioner. For that matter, management has decided that; you step aside until investigations and disciplinary procedures are Concluded in any case not later than six months from now,” Kakande added.
He was replaced by his Deputy William Donanto Kasigazi until further notice in acting capacity until today when Ngabirano took over.
