The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has postponed the long-awaited 2023 reunion marathon for its pressure groups due to lack of funds.
The marathon which was initially scheduled for December 10 has been postponed to the second week of January next year.
During a media engagement on Thursday 7th December at Kololo independence grounds, Frank Sserubiri the National Chairman of NRM pressure groups said that the committee decided to call off the marathon on the advice of the President.

He said that the organizing committee still lacked Ugx 500M that was required to fund the marathon.
“We had budgeted for Ugx 500M but they wanted me to sign only for Ugx 200M which is not enough to obtain the requirements such as the t-shirts and the running kits”, Sserubiri disclosed.
The NRM pressure group network vowed to support the President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the party flag bearer for the 2026 presidential elections.
