KAMPALA
Uganda’s ruling party NRM has welcomed Fdc’s Yusuf Nsibambi also the Mawokota south legislator in the current parliament,the deputy party president for Buganda and the current whip for FDC in the parliament.
In a post on her social media platform X formerly Twitter,the speaker of parliament Annet Anita Among confirmed the news.
“We hereby extend an official welcome to the Honourable Yusuf Nsibambi into the @NRMOnline family. We appreciate your recognition of the importance of our cause and your decision to join the movement dedicated to safeguarding and strengthening our nation’s achievements,” read a statement speaker’s X handle.
“I have brought Hon Nsibambi to join NRM. Today, February 18th he has joined NRM. He believes and has said he had known what NRM had done and that since joining parliament he has seen it and believes wants to be in team that delivers for this country,” Among added.
Nsibambi was welcomed by Speaker Among and other officials at the party offices in kyadondo.
“As a party we have got a knowledgeable and resourceful person in Nsibambi,” Among added.

Nsibambi, who was shining in yellow, said he is ready to serve the party.
“I am ready to join the struggle for peace. I am ready to be given any task to serve our people,” Nsibambi said.
Nsibambi,a historical member of FDC who recently declared his retirement from active politics after losing his parliamentary seat to suzan Nakawuki of the ruling National resistance movement will join a group of people he has critized for all the time in opposition.
Nsibambi,a veteran law don has joined other members who switched parties to the ruling party including but not limited to Doctor Twaha Kagabo who switched from NUP .
It should also be recalled that after losing the MP seat to NRM,Nsibambi withdrew several forms of support he had offered to constituents including disconnecting a power transformer that had brought power to several villages a move that disrupted business in the area.
